Astral guide

So you are a brand new level 21 mage, and want to try experimenting with your portal spell, or have just attained level 30, and try out your neat new astral walk spell. The first thing you need to know is - no, it will not work all the time to wherever you want. Astralling/portalling for all levels is restricted by the geographical area (geo) you are in, and which geo you are trying to get to. Some areas and mobs are also simply unable to be reached through these methods, and you just have to break down and walk. Mages who have not yet reached the level of Avatar have something else to take into consideration, their level and the level of the mob or character they are trying to get to - sometimes it may be difficult to target a higher level mob/character than yourself.

To get a better understanding of where you can go, and how to get there, I have composed a list of the different areas, grouped by geos, showing which geos are linked to each other, and a couple example mobs you may portal or astral to. To get a visual idea of the layout of the Realms, check out Herne's graphical map.

Example of a Multi-Geo Hop:

Lets say you want to get to from Darkhaven to Valley of the Elves. Look at the lists of the geos below to see which geos you need to go through (in this case, you would have to go from New Darkhaven to The Forgotten Woods to Barren Peaks to Northern Plains). Pick a mob in any area in the respective geos. For this example, you could astral from Darkhaven to Jacklyn in Ofcol (Forgotten Woods geo) to Torlynn in Barrik's Keep (Barren Peaks geo) to Octavius in Valley of the Elves (Northern Plains geo). Ta da, you're there!
