Rules and Bylaws:

1. Leadership

a. The Guild Leadership will consist of three (3) elected individuals. The Leader (Guildmaster), Guild First, and Guild Second.

b. The Leadership will be elected by a majority vote from the general member population of the Guild.

c. To run for election, a member must first be nominated by another Guild member, have their nomination seconded, and then post a note accepting the nomination.

d. If a Leader is absent from the Realms for a period of four (4) weeks or more, they may be removed from office.

e. If a Leader retires or is removed from office, the remaining Leaders will advance in rank and an election will be held for a new Guild Second.

f. However, a Leader may choose not to advance in position at this time if it is in the best interests of the Guild and/or him/herself.

g. If it is determined by Leadership that any Leader is not fulfilling their obligation to the Guild, they may request in writing to the current Immortal Overseer of Guilds that this person be removed from office.

h . Leaders are responsible for the daily operation of the Guild, and must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times.

3. General membership

a. All members must know and abide by the rules and regulations governing the Guild. Ignorance will not be an excuse.

b. Members are required to be channel +guild at all times. Exceptions may be made temporarily in the case of meetings, battles, or when guildchat becomes excessively spam-laden.

c. The primary responsibility of a Guilded Mage is to respect and help (within their capacity) their fellow Guild members. Fellow players within the Realms should also be treated with respect in the spirit of this credo.

d. Members will address each other with respect over Guild channels. Any personal attacks and foul language over Guild Channels, within the Guild HQ or on noteboards will not be tolerated.

e. Guild items and Guild donation items are not to be given, sold, traded or auctioned to non-Guild members. Nor are Guild donation items to be used to further one's own personal finances by way of Midas Touch, selling, or auctioning.

f. An exception to the above rule is brewed potions and heal potions that are bought from guild donations. These may be used on non-guilded alternate characters. The guild mana potions may not be used on non-guilded alternate characters.

g. When trading or selling a Guilded character, the original owner must post a note announcing the trade/sale on the Guild noteboard, and must have the character outcasted by a leader prior to trading or selling.

h. Supplicating of corpses and killing oneself should be done with consideration to others, and where possible done away from populated rooms such as recall or the noteboards.

i. The Guild noteboard is required reading for all Guilded Mages. This note board should be read and checked for new notes at least once per visit to the Realms.

j. The Guild noteboard is for notes that are of general interest to all. Complaints or problems should be brought to the attention of a Leader or Council member via tells or mudmail. Personal messages should be sent via mudmail. Notes which may be considered a personal attack on another character will not be tolerated and will be met with severe discipline.

k. All members are required to actively participate in the Guild in order to remain in the Guild.

l. If an outcast from the Guild is re-quested, no matter what the circumstances, there will be a mandatory waiting period of one month then a quest of 5 eq items and 5 info items before the person in question can rejoin.

m. A Guild member with the 'Initiate' flag in their title will be considered to be on probation within the Guild. Therefore, any disciplinary action for initiates will be met with most severe consequences. Initiates have no voting or nomination rights in Guild elections.

n. A title of 'retired' may be requested by a non-active mage. If formally accepted by the Council, this will relieve that mage from the expected duties of the Guild, until they are deemed active once again by leadership, or request the change themselves, whereupon the title may be revoked. Members have no voting or nomination rights in Guild elections.

o. Guild members are encouraged to discuss any concerns or suggestions with Council and/or Guild Leaders.

These then are the rules, regulations, and guidelines of this Guild. All are subject to interpretation by the Leaders of the Guild, and they may enforce them as they see fit. This document may be subject to further amendment at a future date.
